Tumblr Tips
canering:
last updated: 15 April 2012

As far as I know, these scripts/extensions can work together.
I’ll add more links as I think of them, and feel free to share your own tips or...

idrawnintendo:
I’ve been promising a process post for a while now and today seems like a good day for it, since I’m too buried under freelance work and shipping (hooray!) to draw new comics.
This is just MY process of course—and even at that, it’s not always the one I use.
Step 1. Layout
I’ve been doing all…
Simple step-by-step-process on creating simple animations in...
Tutorial: Motion Trails & Weighted Tangents →
animationtidbits:
Here are some quick and handy notes on using motion trails in Maya and weighted tangents in the graph editors, from the AAU Animation Club.
That being said, my personal favorite note was how Anthony related the graph editor to timing and spacing. Anthony indicated the x-axis of the graph editor as “timing” and the y-axis of graph editor as “spacing” — a perfect way of...

sorry I didn’t answer this sooner I kinda passed out on my bed last evening but I actually have a lot to say about this so I wanted to put some time into it.
Personally, my anatomy is just so-so. I only really know muscles based on what I’ve seen from the outside and I can’t draw a skeleton from memory. I have a far better grasp of form and shape and I think that’s what drives my...

Critical Thoughts on Art School & Unfocused...
fox-orian:
I’ve been meaning to do a short rant dealing with how I feel retrospectively having gone to art school. I’ve talked about having gone before, and I’ve given some advice about choosing a school that’s right for you should you choose to go. But you know, having been out for a couple years now, there are a few glaring problems I see not just from the school I attended, but apparently...

I just had a moment of freaking out trying to find an old youtube channel that was full of super legit art tutorials— I’d lost the link to it eons ago— and then performed some excellent google-fu and found it again!
FZDSCHOOL is full of tons of super high-quality super helpful tutorials and demonstrations of art stuff, like character design and environment design and digital...
a neat perspective trick that you should know
halleybutt:
say you drew a box and you want this box to become, I don’t know, a building:
and you want to divide the sides of the box in half, so you can know where to put the windows and doors and whatever! if you eyeball it, you’re probably going to miss the halfway point, and it will look stupid:
that is incorrect. if you want to bisect a side of a box in perspective, try doing this...
